What is Metabolic Health?

Our metabolic health is the core of all functioning parts of our body, and it optimises our bodily functions to ensure that our bodies are thriving.

An individual's metabolic health is unique and is shaped by more factors than age or genetics:

  • Age

  • Sleep

  • Stress

  • Gender

  • Genetics

  • Nutrition

  • Metabolism

  • Microbiome

  • Mental Health

  • Physical activity

When the above areas are in balance, we are free from diseases and fuelled in a way that allows us to navigate our everyday life in a thriving state.

When the above areas are imbalanced, a cluster effect occurs, and we become susceptible to:

  • Stroke

  • Obesity

  • Cancer

  • Diabetes

  • Insomnia

  • Insulin resistance

  • High blood pressure

  • Mental health issues

  • Disrupted microbiome

  • Coronary heart disease

It is becoming increasingly apparent that our food choices dictate our metabolic health. This is where functional nutrition plays a key role in balancing our metabolism. Functional nutrition can prevent and reverse diseases such as type 2 diabetes, obesity, and blood pressure.

From the Initial Comprehensive Health and Lifestyle consultation with myself, signs of imbalanced metabolic health will become very apparent. The next step would be to create a personalised Health & Lifestyle Blueprint using functional nutrition to rebalance your body.

Even when we consume a slice of 100% organic whole grain sourdough bread, we will receive only 2 grams of fiber and end up consuming 20 grams of carbohydrates (starch and sugar), as well as 100 calories! This type of eating over a long period plays a role in metabolic dysfunction.

A whole foods approach, along with nourishing nutritional guidance will be provided to you to rebalance your metabolic health.

Bringing an imbalanced metabolism back to a state of balance is the key to thriving over barely surviving.
